KIDS! Introduction to Sewing 😎
This workshop is perfect for Children aged 7-12 who would like to learn how to use a sewing machine. They will be guided through setting up and threading the sewing machine including how to wind a bobbin and how to select stitches. We will look at Tention and how to recognise when it looks right or wrong, how to sew safely using a sewing machine, how to follow seam allowances and how to make an "open seam" Once they are confident on the machine they will make a simple but effective "Book Cushion" which are perfect for storing thier favorite book or diary before snuggling down with their new cushion to read it! This workshop is made to be fun & interactive with a relaxed but informative teaching style to engage children and make sewing fun! Adults are asked to accompany their children to this workshop, so you can enjoy the experience together 😊 The workshop includes the template for the cushion and the inner cushion pad. Fabric can be provided for £10 per child (please contact me to add fabric) You will need to bring: -1m of cotton fabric or a pack of "fat quaters" & matching thread. -A packed lunch and snacks should be bought with you or you can pop out for lunch if you prefer. Tea, coffee and squash is provided throughout. The day runs from 10am-2:30pm with a 30 minute lunch break around 12:00pm. Please note: workshops are non-refundable so please ensure you can make the date before you book.
